J Vineyards & Winery Pinot Gris California 2010
Price: Suggested retail is $15.00 (Purchased for $13.00)
Date Tasted: 6/17/2012
From The Winery: 14.0% alcohol, 30,000 cases produced
Impressions/Notes: Straw-colored, with a slight tinge of gold. Exotic notes of citrus, cantaloupe, and honeysuckle, and a bit of lemon hanging in the background. The nose reminded me a lot of a Gewürztraminer. Nicely textured in the mouth. Dry, with generous but far from overwhelming acidity, and ending with a very clean finish. A stunning value! The only downside–the winery has listed this wine as sold out! If you see this wine on the shelf, consider yourself lucky and grab it. Special thanks to the NH Wine-man for turning me on to this wine. I’m looking forward to trying the 2011 vintage.
Rating: Highly Recommended (90-94), 5/5 Value

Dear Nick,
Thanks for the stunning review on our J California Pinot Gris; we appreciate your “Highly Recommended” rating and are thrilled to be part of your blog about American Wine.
The newly released 2011 J California Pinot Gris is as stunning as the 2010 vintage displaying notes of Fuji apple, ripe cantaloupe, apricot, with a hint of kiwi and sweet orange blossom honey on the palate.
The 2011 J California Pinot Gris should be available in NH at your favorite retailer, please feel free to utilize our “Find our Wines” from the J Website and search by zip code. In addition, “Southern Wine & Spirits” is our distributor in NH, so when you visit your favorite wine retail shop they can place an order for you directly with “Southern Wine & Spirits” for the 2011 J California Pinot Gris. We look forward to following your reviews on WineSpeak USA. Cheers!

Thanks for writing! I am actually based out of Colorado, but it appears that I still have plenty of options to find J wines. By the way, your “Find our Wines” feature on your site is very useful and one of the better I’ve seen–some wineries simply list their distributors, which only helps so much. Hope to try your 2011 Pinot Gris and any other J wines that I come across.
Cheers!
Nick
