Reynvaan In The Rocks Syrah 2010

Impressions/Notes: Reynvaan Family Vineyards’ wines are not easy to come by–there is currently a waiting list to get on their mailing list–but I was able to nab a bottle of one of their highly acclaimed Syrahs. The 2010 In The Rocks Syrah is without a doubt the most exciting wine that I’ve come across in the last few months. Captivating aromas of funky minerality, red cherry, cranberry, saline, white pepper, tea leaves, smoke, and moist earth had me sticking my nose in the glass obsessively. In the mouth, this wine is highlighted by savory flavors, a velvety mouthfeel, and fine tannins. The finish is long (ridiculously long) and envelopes the palate and nose. Reynvaan is a winery that I will be following with much interest.
Rating: Highly Recommended/Stellar (92-96), 3/5 Value

Nice! I hope you didn’t drink this ALL by yourself;-)
I did and I don’t regret it
!
I felt the same when I tried the 2008 Unnamed when I was in Walla Walla in Sept. 2011. That was the first time I tried Reynvaan (or any wine from The Rocks). An amazing blend of multiple aromas and flavors along with the super polished texture. A thoroughly enjoyable night between drinking Reynvaan and eating at Saffron!
It’s the most exciting wine that I’ve tried in a while. Reynvaan and Saffron sounds like a great combination!!
